We’ve Arrived in Colorado

Craig Hospital – Day 1 (8/6/13).

Shawn & I flew from Los Angeles to Denver today. The “Air Ambulance” flight took about 3 hours & on board was a nurse & respiratory therapist. Shawn was admitted & settled into his room by 2:00. During the next ten days the TBI (traumatic brain injury) staff will evaluate Shawn in many various ways to determine the very best individualized treatment he needs to receive. This evening my Dad spoke to Dr. Alan Weintraub, Medical Director of Craig Hospital’s TBI program. My Dad is very encouraged by the approach, methods & personalized plan that will be implemented for Shawn’s recovery. Being under Dr. Weintraub’s care is a major blessing of God. Shawn is receiving the best medical care that man can provide-which is such an encouragement. BUT, we all know that God, our Father is the “Great Physician.” It would now be a very easy time for many of us to let down our focus on praying for Shawn without ceasing, but it’s truly time for us to increase our petitions to the Lord for Shawn’s healing. Our family would like to ask each of you to please commit the next 40 days to lift up your petitions to God, in the name of Jesus Christ for His healing touch on Shawn. Thanks so much to each of you for your prayers the past month (35 days). We know God hears & we’ve seen Him answer those prayer requests through the improvements displayed by Shawn. Please don’t stop praying, but increase in your diligence & persistence. We are so grateful for your support & prayers. God bless you & your family. Shannon

Luke 18:1-8 (NIV) “The Parable of the Persistent Widow”

18:1 – Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. 2 He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. 3 And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’ 4 “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, 5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’” 6 And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7 And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8 I tell you, He will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
