PRAISE THE LORD JESUS CHRIST! Family, Friends & Prayer Warriors – we all have so much to be grateful & thankful for. We are celebrating Shawn’s continued recovery due to the loving-kindness & compassion of God, Jehovah-Rapha (the Great & Almighty HEALER). Today, Tuesday, November 5th is our 3-month anniversary at Craig Hospital. Shawn arrived here on my birthday, August 6th. Prior to Craig Hospital he spent 5 weeks in a coma in Los Angeles’ hospitals. Adding it all up it’s been 126 days, just over 4 months. What an amazing journey for Shawn & for our family. This experience has been a special gift from the Lord. We have come to better understand how much that God truly loves us. And…how faithful God is. Through all the intense days, weeks & months of heartache, pain & suffering God’s Shalom peace has been upon us. Some days it felt like I/we wouldn’t make it through-it hurt so bad, but God’s grace & mercy was more than sufficient as His Word promises it will be. We had to take it one day at a time and do as   Ephesians 6:10 says, “Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.” We have lived through a miracle in experiencing the healing of God upon Shawn. Also, all of you that have prayed for Shawn are partakers in this celebration & joy of God’s faithfulness. All of you prayer warriors have shared  this amazing blessing with our family. This journey began on July 2nd when Shawn was staring death straight in the face. His vitals had shut down or were in the process of shutting down…his life was hanging in the balance. A few days later the neurologist pulled Marilyn, Shannon & me aside & showed us Shawn’s brain scan & said it was so severely damaged from hypoxia that we should (within 30 days) “pull the plug” and starve Shawn to death. The doctor said that Shawn wouldn’t want to live in a vegetative stage forever and that this would not be the type of life that Shawn would want to live. We left that hospital & doctor for the next phase of Shawn’s recovery. We were provided a ray of hope about 2 weeks later when Shawn’s new neurologist told us that he was “cautiously optimistic” about Shawn’s recovery. (God’s healing was finally being noticed). This doctor said that he thought Shawn would eventually wake up out of his coma, but he didn’t know when it would be. More hope followed as God directed us to a special hospital-Craig Hospital & blessed us with Shawn being accepted. Thankfully a bed was soon to be available. On Shawn’s 35th day in a coma (August 6th) he was air evacuated by Air Ambulance from L.A. to Englewood, (Denver) Colorado. This was the beginning of many unique days. Shawn first responded verbally to me (after 54 days of silence) on August 24th. I asked him if the pillows I had just adjusted for him made him comfortable, he responded “ya”. From that point his verbal skills improved greatly & about a month ago he was able to have prolonged & intelligent discussions. His vision has been a challenge too. The week before last the eye doctor was astonished at Shawn’s vision progress. His exact words were “his recovery is nothing short of a miracle.” He has been standing up for about 4 or 5 weeks, but the last 2 weeks he’s been walking with the assistance of a therapist. On Sunday he walked about 10 feet totally by himself. Praise God-what a miracle!!! It brings to mind the biblical story of Lazarus. Please read the Gospel of John, chapter 11 for the details and full impact. In verse 43 Jesus cried out with a loud voice (after thanking God His Father) saying “Lazarus, come out.” Prior to that Jesus said to Martha, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?” We are praising the Lord for we believed & those of you who prayed and believed for we are now seeing the glory of God. Shawn has moved from death & come out of his coma. To God be the glory for this is a miracle! Shawn will be released from in-patient at Craig Hospital on Friday, November 8th to out-patient status. This means he’ll live at home with us (at Peter’s house) & we’ll take him daily (Monday-Friday) to Craig Hospital for his 4-7 hours of various therapies. This phase of out-patient status will last 5 weeks when we’ll then move back home to Los Angeles (Lord willing) or possibly Scottsdale, Arizona which has become a secondary option for continued therapy. Shawn still has a ways to go in his recovery, he is not 100% yet-but he is improving daily. Your prayers are still much needed. I’m reminded of what God said in the Torah, Deuteronomy 6 that when the Lord has done all that He promised He would do & you are full (satisfied)-“then take care lest you forget the Lord.” (verse 12) Let’s not now or ever forget our Almighty God & His son Jesus! Our address until December 13th will be: Shawn Malone, 84 Spruce St., Unit #904, Denver, CO. 80230. Please do keep praying for Shawn & us. We are not sure what the future holds-but we know WHO holds the future. Thank you for your unceasing prayers. Unending thanks to our amazing God for His faithfulness.  Kevin

Psalm 103:1-5 “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all of his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”
